Video Download Not Working? Here Is How to Fix It
Troubleshooting guide for common video download problems. Fix invalid links, processing errors, and failed downloads from social media.
You paste a link, click download, and either nothing happens or you get an error. It is frustrating, but most of the time the fix is simple. Here are the most common reasons downloads fail and what to do about each one.
Is the link complete?
This is the number one cause of failed downloads. Social media apps sometimes truncate or shorten URLs in the share menu. The link might look complete in the share sheet, but the actual copied text can be cut off. Paste the link into a text editor or notes app first to see what you actually copied. It should start with https:// and contain the full path to the video.
If the link is shortened, get the full URL from the browser address bar instead of the app share menu.
Is the video still there?
Content gets deleted every day. The uploader might have removed it. The platform might have taken it down. The link itself might be old. Open the link directly in your browser. If the video does not load there, the downloader will not be able to fetch it either.
For Snapchat specifically, public stories expire in 24 hours. If the story has ended, the link will not work. Grab Snapchat links the same day you see the content.
Is it public?
The tool only works with publicly visible content. Private accounts, friend-only posts, locked tweets, and private groups are not accessible. That is a limitation built into how platforms share data with third-party tools, not something the downloader controls.
Browser issues
Some browser extensions — ad blockers, privacy tools, script blockers — can interfere with the download process. Try opening the page in an incognito or private window. If that works, an extension is causing the problem. Switch to a different browser and see if the issue persists.
Mobile browsers sometimes handle downloads differently from desktop ones. If the download fails on your phone, try the same link on a computer, or vice versa.
Connection problems
A slow or unstable internet connection can cause the download to time out. If you are on mobile data, try switching to Wi-Fi. If the connection is weak, wait until you have a stronger signal and try again.
Is the platform supported?
The tool works with Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), Snapchat, Imgur, iFunny, and TED. If you are trying to download from a platform not on this list, the downloader cannot process it. Check the list of supported platforms on the homepage if you are unsure.
Still stuck?
Wait a couple of minutes and try again. Sometimes the issue is server load or a temporary platform hiccup. If the problem persists, reach out through the contact page and include the full link — that helps identify whether the URL format is something the tool can handle.
Nine out of ten download failures come down to one of these issues. Check the link, confirm the content is public, and try a different browser. That will solve most cases.
